Saint Swithens Spa Cottage

|
Saint Swithens Spa Cottage
The spa was situated on the left hand side of the footpath from Pinderfield's Hospital to Parkhill Pit and was near to where the new houses of Pinder's Heath are now. The spa was very popular with the rich people who travelled many miles for the curative waters which they experienced in the cottage. Such was it's importance that there was the possibility that the waters here would become as important as those at Harrogate or Bath but unfortunately the workings at Parkhill Pit drained the waters away and that was the end of the spa. Thankyou to Brian Robinson for supplying this information.
