This photo was presumably taken after a game of cricket, an intresting point to note the wide age range of the people, young and old enjoying a game together. Something we do not see very much of today.
We belive that the lad named as Alan Smith is actually Ralph Collins and the lad behind Duncan Taylor is Walter Goddard, The lad named as Dennis Whitehouse we belive is Eric Biddle

The two teachers are on the left, Miss Kathleen Hall and the right, Mrs Emelie Armitage. Miss Kathleen Hall was the daughter of Roland Hall, builder, and living on Rooks Nest Road near Woollin’s shop. She died young in the 1970s. Emelie Anderson (13.7.1913-2004) married Thomas Armitage, also a teacher, but at the school on Canal Lane. Miss Hall taught the pupils in the first 2 years and Mrs Armitage the last year pupils. I was at the school 1952-58. Mrs Armitage was an excellent teacher and helped me a great deal. Information courtesy of John Shaw
